Athlete of the Week

This week’s GCHS Athlete of the Week, Duke bound Mabel Overbeck. Mabel is a captain on the girls’ varsity lacrosse team. The Trojans started their season with three tough non-league games against powerhouse teams Radnor (PA), Bayport Blue Point and Ward Melville. The team went 3-0 with strong play from several players. Over the three games, Mabel allowed ONE goal while being assigned to defend each opponent’s top offensive player and against three division one bound scorers (Duke, Navy and Maryland). She also contributed a goal. Her leadership and skill have the Trojans trending upward!!!

HONORABLE MENTION:

Naimh Pfaff, Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Captain, has been stellar in goal as the team finished the week with wins over Radnor(6 saves), BBP (8 saves)and Ward Melville (4 saves).
