In being named the Jim Steen Award recipient, Tommy follows in the footsteps of Garden City legends like Doug Merrihew (1971) and his father, Tom Poz Sr. (1979). Tommy Poz’s recognition not only reflects his individual prowess but also the rich tradition of soccer excellence at Garden City High School. This accolade highlights Poz’s outstanding performance throughout the soccer season, showcasing his dedication to the sport. His contributions to the team and his impact on the field were truly exceptional. Tommy Poz lead Nassau County in scoring for the 2023 season with 34 goals. He also broke the Garden City High School career goals record with 61 goals. His play earned him All County, All Region and All-American honors this season.
