Blake Cascadden Earns Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s Athlete of the Week, Blake Cascadden. Blake’s journey through Locust School, Stewart (2nd Grade), Stratford (Grades 3-5), and Garden City Middle School culminated in a legendary performance on the grandest stage. He amassed 144 rushing yards from 13 carries, made 2 receptions, and contributed 4 tackles (including one tackle for a loss). Notably, Blake scored two pivotal touchdowns with runs of 32 and 45 yards, pivotal in the GC Trojan football team’s triumphant 38-7 victory over Suffolk Champion, North Babylon, during the Long Island Championship.

Honorable Mention:

Aidan Considine showcased exceptional resilience, playing through a foot injury and proving instrumental in the football team’s victory. Aidan’s contributions included 60 rushing yards from 10 carries, 1 touchdown, and an impactful five tackles on defense, which included a sack.

Matt Liberopuolos made a remarkable shift to offense for the first time this season, highlighted by a crucial 18-yard touchdown reception. Defensively, he showcased his prowess with 6 tackles (including one tackle for a loss) and an interception, demonstrating his versatile skill set.
