The Garden City High School baseball team clinched the 2025 Nassau County Class AA Championship with a commanding sweep over top-seeded Bellmore JFK in a best-of-three series. The Trojans secured the title with an 8–5 victory in Game 2, held at Farmingdale on May 30, 2025.
In Game 1, Garden City set the tone early, scoring three runs in the first inning and ultimately winning 6–4. The momentum carried into Game 2, where senior left-hander Chris Desiderio delivered a standout performance. Desiderio pitched 6 1/3 innings, striking out nine batters and allowing just one earned run, leading the Trojans to victory.
This championship marks a significant achievement for Garden City High School, highlighting the team’s dedication and skill throughout the season. The Trojans’ triumph adds to the school’s impressive athletic accomplishments during the 2024–25 academic year.
Congratulations to the Garden City Trojans on their well-deserved championship win! The team will next play the Suffolk County Champions, East Islip. The game will be played on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at SUNY Farmingdale at 4:30 PM.
