On Friday, May 2, 2025, the Garden City Varsity Boys Tennis team celebrated its Senior Day with a spirited win over Lynbrook. The afternoon was filled with pride, gratitude, and strong play as the Trojans honored their graduating seniors following the match.
The victory improved Garden City’s record to 7-4, keeping them in the thick of the playoff race as they currently sit in fourth place in Conference 2A. With postseason hopes alive, the team continues to compete with focus and determination.
Senior Day recognized five outstanding members of the Class of 2025 for their leadership, commitment, and contributions to the tennis program: Mannat Jain, Grant Lemieux, Patrick “JP” Maher, Evan Rom, and Matteo Schettino. Each senior was acknowledged in front of teammates, coaches, family, and friends for the dedication they’ve shown both on and off the court.
“These seniors have helped build a positive culture and a strong sense of camaraderie within our program,” said Head Coach Jen Soper. “We’re proud of their growth and grateful for their contributions over the past four years.”
With just a few matches remaining in the regular season, the Trojans look to build on their momentum and secure a spot in the upcoming playoffs.
