Garden City Hosts Boys’ and Girls’ Fencing Championships

Garden City proudly hosted the Boys’ and Girls’ Fencing Championships on Saturday, where two Trojan fencers, Matteo Schettino and Trey Plastaras, represented the program with impressive performances.

Plastaras, ranked #3 in the county in foil, showcased his skill and determination throughout the competition. He battled his way into the semifinal round, where he engaged in a hard-fought, highly competitive match. Though he fell short in the semis, he remained focused and bounced back in the consolation match, securing a 3rd-place (Bronze) finish.

With this achievement, Trey Plastaras, a Sacred Heart-bound fencer, becomes a four-time All-County honoree, cementing his legacy as one of Garden City’s top competitors.
